We arrive self-contained with our own water and power.
Mobile detailing only works if the detailer actually shows up where you are. So rather than making you guess, here's exactly where Vantage Auto Pros travels, what we need when we arrive, and how a typical appointment runs.
The short answer
We serve the Twin Cities metro on both sides of the river. If you're within roughly 30 to 35 minutes of Minneapolis or St. Paul, you're in our standard service area with no travel fee.
Minneapolis and city neighborhoods
We work throughout Minneapolis, including:
Uptown, Lowry Hill, Kenwood, Linden Hills, Fulton, Armatage, Kingfield, Lyndale, Whittier, Powderhorn, Longfellow, Seward, Standish, Nokomis, Northeast Minneapolis, Marcy-Holmes, North Loop, Downtown, Bryn Mawr, and Southwest Minneapolis.
City appointments come with one wrinkle worth planning for: parking. Detailing needs the vehicle stationary in a spot where we can open all four doors and walk a full circle around it. That's easy in a driveway or an alley garage pad, and harder on a busy one-way in Uptown at 5 p.m.
If you're in a dense neighborhood, the best options are your garage pad, your alley, an off-street driveway, or a quiet residential block. Message us when you book and we'll figure out the logistics — we've done a lot of city appointments.
St. Paul and East Metro
Across the river we cover:
Highland Park, Macalester-Groveland, Merriam Park, Summit Hill, Summit-University, Como, Hamline-Midway, St. Anthony Park, Downtown St. Paul, West Seventh, Dayton's Bluff, and the East Side.
Plus the east metro suburbs: Woodbury, Maplewood, Roseville, Falcon Heights, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, Oakdale, Cottage Grove, Inver Grove Heights, South St. Paul, and West St. Paul.
West and southwest suburbs
Our heaviest volume:
Edina, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Hopkins, St. Louis Park, Golden Valley, Plymouth, Wayzata, Chanhassen, Chaska, Excelsior, Deephaven, Shorewood, Richfield, and Savage.
Almost all of these are driveway-friendly, which makes them ideal mobile territory. Garage access is common too, which means we can keep exterior work going later into the fall and earlier in the spring than street-parked vehicles allow.
North and northwest suburbs
Maple Grove, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Crystal, New Hope, Robbinsdale, Osseo, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Andover, Anoka, Ramsey, Fridley, Spring Lake Park, Mounds View, and Arden Hills.
South suburbs
Eagan, Burnsville, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Rosemount, Farmington, Prior Lake, Shakopee, Mendota Heights, and Sunfish Lake.
Outside the standard area
If you're in Stillwater, Hastings, Northfield, Elk River, Monticello, Buffalo, Waconia, or a similar ring-two community, ask. We travel outside the metro regularly, especially for full details and multi-vehicle appointments. There may be a travel fee, and we'll quote it up front — never as a surprise on the invoice.
What we need at your location
We arrive self-contained. You don't need to run a hose, an extension cord, or anything else.
What genuinely helps:
Space. Enough room to open all four doors fully and walk around the vehicle. A standard driveway or parking stall with an empty space beside it is plenty.
Legal, safe access. We can't work in an active traffic lane or block a fire lane.
Keys. We need to move seats, open the trunk, and run the vehicle briefly to check climate vents.
A cleared interior. Personal items removed before we arrive saves 15 to 20 minutes of the appointment. Anything you leave, we'll bag and set aside, but the time comes out of the detail.
Approval, for shared property. If you're in an apartment, condo, or office lot, confirm with management first. Most say yes. The ones that don't usually offer an alternative area.
Apartments, condos, and workplaces
A large share of our appointments happen somewhere other than a single-family driveway.
Apartments and condos. Assigned surface stalls work well. Underground garages are generally fine for interior details; exterior work needs a bit more clearance and drainage, so let us know the setup ahead of time.
Workplaces. Getting your car detailed while you work is the most efficient version of this whole service. Give us the stall number and the keys in the morning, and it's done before you leave. Several of our regulars book this way every quarter.
Multi-vehicle. Two or more vehicles at the same address in one visit is the easiest booking we do. Neighbors coordinate this fairly often, and it makes scheduling simpler for everyone.
Weather and scheduling in the metro
Minnesota weather is a real scheduling variable for mobile work, and we'd rather be straight with you.
May through September. Nearly unrestricted. We shift start times on very hot days so products don't flash-dry on hot panels.
October and April. Exterior work depends on temperature and rain. We watch forecasts and proactively move appointments rather than washing a car right before a storm.
November through March. Interior details run all winter, and honestly this is when they matter most — salt is being tracked into your carpets daily. Exterior work needs above-freezing temperatures or a heated garage. If you have a garage we can pull into, you can get exterior work done in January.

What makes a location easy or hard
After hundreds of driveways across the metro, some patterns are consistent.
Easiest. A flat concrete driveway with an empty spot beside the vehicle, in a single-family neighborhood. This describes most of Edina, Plymouth, Woodbury, Maple Grove, Eagan, and the outer suburbs, and it's why those appointments run right on schedule.
Very workable. Alley garage pads in Minneapolis and St. Paul, assigned surface stalls at apartment complexes, and office lots on a weekday. All we need is room to open doors and walk the perimeter.
Needs planning. Steep or heavily sloped driveways, gravel surfaces where runoff pools, tight underground parking with low clearance, and street parking on a busy road. None are automatic no's — they just mean we should talk through the setup when you book so the appointment isn't a surprise for either of us.
Not workable. Active traffic lanes, fire lanes, and properties where management has explicitly prohibited vehicle washing. If your HOA or building bans it, we can usually still perform interior work, or relocate to a nearby permitted spot.
Seasonal notes by area
Neighborhoods with mature tree cover — Highland Park, Linden Hills, St. Anthony Park, and much of Northeast — deal with heavy sap and pollen in late spring and a serious leaf and tannin load in October. Vehicles parked under those canopies benefit from more frequent exterior work than the metro average, because sap etches clear coat if it bakes on.
Newer developments in Lakeville, Blaine, and Woodbury are the opposite problem: more open sun exposure, more UV load on paint and headlights, and less shelter from wind-driven road dust.
Lake-adjacent areas around Minnetonka, Excelsior, and White Bear Lake see boat-trailer vehicles with their own contamination profile — algae residue, hitch grease, and cargo-area moisture that needs proper drying to avoid odor.
How an appointment works
- Book online. Pick your service and vehicle size on our booking page and you'll see the price immediately. No callback required to find out what it costs.
- We confirm. You get a confirmation with your window and any location questions.
- We arrive. We walk the vehicle with you, flag anything worth knowing about — existing damage, stubborn stains, realistic expectations — before starting.
- We work. One hour for an exterior detail, two to three for an interior, three to four for a full detail. You can stay, leave, or work.
- Walkthrough. We go over the finished vehicle with you before payment.
Frequently asked logistics
How far in advance should I book? In spring, two to three weeks for a weekend slot — April and May are the busiest weeks of the year in this market. Weekday mornings open up much faster. In midwinter, interior appointments are usually available within a few days.
What if it rains? For exterior and full details we watch the forecast and reach out proactively to move the appointment. We won't wash a vehicle an hour before a thunderstorm and call it done.
Do you need to be there? No. Plenty of customers leave keys and go to work. We'll text when we arrive, text when we finish, and take payment remotely if you prefer.
How is payment handled? Prices shown on the booking page are cash-only sales. Other payment methods are available — just ask when booking so the total is clear before we start.
Can you do multiple vehicles? Yes, and it's the most efficient way to book. Same address, same visit, one trip.

Do you need water and electricity at my location?
No. We arrive self-contained with our own water and power. All we need is safe, legal access to the vehicle and enough room to work around it.

Usually yes. Most buildings allow detailing in a resident's or employee's assigned stall. Please confirm with property management before your appointment so nothing gets interrupted.
Is there a travel fee?
Not within our standard service area. For locations well outside the metro we may add a travel fee, and we'll always tell you the total before you confirm the booking.
